Scottish Hydro National Competition 2012

2012 sees the 2^nd edition of The Scottish Hydro National Competition where every golf club member in Scotland is invited to take part and, with, a bit of luck and skill, join the Team Scottish Hydro members at The Scottish Hydro Challenge Pro-Am on the eve of the European Challenge Tour event at the magnificent Macdonald Spey Valley Resort, Aviemore on Wednesday 20^th June 2012.

In 2011 over 150 male and female golfers came through their club medals in April and competed in the Regional Finals on Sunday May 1^st. John McHenry (Lochview G.C), Scott McFarlane (Musselburgh), Robert Coupar (Carrbridge G.C), Andrew Merrilees (Muckhart) and Nicola Gilmore (Murrayshall) all prevailed and, along with two of their friends, joined Team Scottish Hydro 2011; Gavin Dear, Chris Doak, Craig Lee, Callum Macaulay and Jamie McLeary as their playing partners in  The Scottish Hydro Challenge Pro-Am at Aviemore.

How it works?

We will have written to your Golf Club to invite them to allocate a Medal that is taking place in April 2012 as The Scottish Hydro National Competition Qualifier. Following registration by your Club Secretary, the winner of the Medal, or next available player, will then take part in one of 5 Regional Finals on Sunday May 6^th where the successful individual will get to choose two friends to join one of The Team Scottish Hydro 2012 members (announced in February 2012) as their Pro-Am Team in Aviemore. This fantastic prize also gives  the whole party two night’s accommodation (Tuesday 19^th and Wednesday 20^th June 2012) with the Scottish Hydro Pro-Am played during the day of Wednesday 20^th June. All guests will also attend the Gala Dinner in the evening following the Pro-Am. Runners-up Prizes will also be awarded.

Unlucky in your Medal? (it’s not necessarily over yet!)

This year we are also delighted to invite every club member that takes part in their Medal the opportunity to enter a nationwide competition to ‘play like the Pros’. By participating you are entered in to a National draw where the winner, by random selection, will win a set of golf clubs, bag and clothing from head to toe by our friends at Taylor Made Adidas golf. Again Runners up prizes will also be awarded.

2. If not, please let us know that you wish to compete by either: 

(a) Getting your Club secretary to complete the registration form 

(b) Complete the registration enqiry form and we will contact your Club secretary on your behalf
