Terms & Conditions

  1. Unless otherwise stated, the competition is open to all members of Scottish golf clubs who are aged 18 or over and who hold an official SGU Handicap.

  2. Entries will only be accepted by signing the registration form held by the club professional on the day of the qualifying competition. Only one entry per person is permitted.

  3. Entry is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

  4. The latest possible entry for the qualifying competition is registration for the club medal. 

  5. Each golf club shall hold a club medal competition in which the entrant will take part. The club medal competition shall take place under normal stroke-play conditions and the winner will be the player with the lowest net score after 18 holes. Winners will be selected and notified at the close of play.

  6. Winner or highest available player of the club medal competition shall take part in the regional finals. The club secretary or designated club official will register the winners or highest available by Monday 30th April. The regional finals will take place on 6th May 2012. Subject to paragraph 7, winners or the highest available players of the club medal competition will be entered into the regional final that is geographically closest to their home course. 

  7. In the event of too many players qualifying for a certain regional final venue, players may be required to travel to the next nearest available regional final.

  8. All female winners of the club medal competition shall play at one regional final venue.

  9. The winners of the regional finals will be the five players with the lowest net score after 18 holes. In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided on a count back of the last 9, 6, 3, and 1 holes, as appropriate. Winners will be selected and notified at the close of play and presented with their prize.

  10. In the event a winner is not considered to be an eligible entrant then the player with the next best score shall be put forward as an entrant into the regional final and/or Scottish Hydro Challenge Pro-am, as appropriate.

  11. The prize: Each winner of the regional finals and two friends will play in the Scottish Hydro Challenge Pro-am on the 20th June 2012. The prize includes bed and breakfast on Tuesday 19th June and Wednesday 2oth June and attendance at the Pro-am dinner on Wednesday 2oth  June. The individual winner shall be entitled to single occupancy and his/her friends will share a twin.

  12. No other expenses are included in the prize, eg. travel, additional food and beverage, etc.

  13. The winner may be required to submit valid identification before receiving their prize.

  14. The winner’s friends competing in the Scottish Hydro Challenge Pro-am must produce a valid handicap certificate before taking part in the competition.

  15. No responsibility is taken for non-delivered entries.

  16. The judge's decision is final and binding on the entrants. No correspondence will be entered into.

  17. There is no cash or other alternatives to the prize stated and the prize is not transferable and no part or parts of the prize may be substituted for other benefits, items or additions.

  18. Promoter reserves the right, with or without cause, to exclude entrants and withhold prizes for any violation of these terms and conditions. Promoter reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions. Any amendments will be published on the Team Scottish Hydro website.

  19. Promoter will not be liable for any loss or damage arising out of the winner or their guest's enjoyment of the prize.

  20. By entering, each winner agrees to allow the free use of their names, photographs and general locations for publicity and news purposes during this and future promotions by Promoter or any associated or subsidiary company of Promoter.

  21. Use of personal data received by Promoter in the course of the promotion are subject to the privacy policy found on the Team Scottish Hydro website.

  22. Promoter reserves the right at any time to cancel, modify or supersede the competition at any stage. Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with an alternative of equal value without notice up to the date of the competition.

  23. The decision of Promoter will be binding and final in all matters.
